The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) is readying itself for a fight against two online poker prohibition bills that have been introduced by US Senator Lindsey Graham and Congressman Jason Chaffetz. The bills seek to expand the Wire Act of 1961 to prohibit licensing and regulation of online gaming across the US.

A video was published earlier this week by the PPA in which the Executive Director, John Pappas, asks viewers to support the campaign. He says, “We have a serious fight on our hands”.

In a separate press release Pappas wrote, “We have learned time and time again throughout history that prohibition is not the solution for protecting consumers and actually does more harm than good. We cannot stand by and allow for misguided legislation to reverse the incredible advancements we have made in consumer and player protections and the ability of the individual states to determine whether to regulate online poker.”

The PPA has launched a campaign on its website which calls for poker players to email their congressional lawmakers, send Tweets to Congress and even call and meet their Representatives and Lawmakers.
